Initially, we will explore various definitions of what constitutes a problem and its different aspects. Subsequently, we will explore how IT management and the systemic approach are pioneering new solutions. Additionally, we will emphasize the significance of asking "why" and examine more instances of traditional problem solving. The session will conclude with an exchange of experiences.

IT Management Related Approach

Commencing with an overview of the problem solving process and its relevance to the IT domain, we will explore the applicable content from the IT world. A crucial competency in our fast-paced world is the ability to simplify complexity. Alongside a few illustrative examples, we will lay the groundwork and emphasize its importance. We will then progress to problem analysis and root cause analysis, introducing the 5x Why method with practical examples. Furthermore, we will address an abstract example of root cause analysis. By explicitly defining constraints, we will explore avenues for solutions, thereby edging closer to resolution. The final section will focus on reframing problems and extracting valuable insights from it.

The term "creative thinking" is often overused. In this instance, we delve into the concept of serendipity and its growing significance in practical applications. The following chapter delves into two specific creativity techniques, employing examples to highlight their implementation power. We will also reflect on our own actions and critically assess our implementation capabilities from earlier chapters.

The systemic approach is particularly well-suited for the problem solving process. Beyond a brief introduction, we examine the systemic perspective of defining a problem.
